MAIN JOB PURPOSE
With the creation of one Foods & Refreshment (F&R) organization, and the alignment of the R&D organization to our Connected 4 Growth programme, we are strengthening our local leadership for our important growth markets, Mashreq and Maghreb, based in Egypt.
We are looking for a motivated and highly professional manager, who brings passion, drive and creativity to manage the portfolio of F&R innovations, renovations, sustainability projects and material savings agenda. This manager will sit on the local CCBTs in Mashreq and Maghreb as the F&R R&D leader, more focus on local requirements of the business, more agility and delivery with speed. Connections must be made with the product development teams in Dubai and Istanbul, to ensure on time delivery of all projects. Knowledge of local legislation and regulations is essential, as well as connectivity to the external world, including key opinion formers, third party production facilities. The job requires close cross functional collaboration and a positive, can-do attitude. The job holder will have two direct reports in Egypt and one in Morocco.
Solid R&D experience, preferably in Foods and/or Refreshment, as well as a proven track record of technical project management are key. Fluency in English and full awareness on the new C4G way of working is a must. Strong and efficient communication skills are required to succeed in this role.
Business Partner for Local marketing and SC/Procurement teams and R&D lead for F&R CCBTs in Mashreq and Maghreb.
Co-creates and Drives OTIF delivery of Innovation, Renovation, Savings, Quality and Sustainability programme in F&R
Is up-to-date with latest developments in F&R and inspires business teams with new ideas and technical opportunities.
Ensures effective interface with Unilever factories in driving implementation of new products and processes
Drives Partner to Win network with suppliers and Procurement
Ensures delivery of programme within the nutrition and sustainability guidelines
Responsible for definition and execution of materials savings and complexity reduction programme
Experiments with new ways of working, such as Flash, PiCi, DtV, etc
Leads a team of three people, one in Morocco, and two in Egypt.
Minimum Bachelor Degree in Chemical/Food Engineering or Food Science
5 years of relevant Product Development experience in Foods and/or Tea business
Fully operational in Technical Project Leadership
Experience in working with third parties’ producers

Good business acumen and eager to learn every day.
Excellent communication English and Arabic skills and ability to work in cross functional teams. French is a plus.
Ability to work in virtual teams
