Accountemps is searching for a Staff Accountant for a long term temporary-to-fulltime opportunity with a fast-growing company. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will support the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Based in the Atlanta, Georgia region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.

Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management
Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
QuickBooks experience desired
1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Efficient in ERP systems
