Summary of key responsibilities and role:

The Regional Marketing Manager (MM) EME (Emerging Markets East) with major focus on Russia and possible future expansion into CIS and beyond, is the first point of contact for the regional sales teams as well as distributors, being responsible for Marketing of the Infectious Disease portfolio of Abbott Molecular in the assigned region.

This includes preparation and implementation of Regional Marketing Plans including country launch plans as well as to develop and execute Business Cases and Business Development Plans in very tight cooperation with the Country Manager Russia and CIS. Fully understanding the markets and market trends in the region, including competitive situation, the Marketing Manager regularly reports back into EMEA Marketing and shares experience with his peers in the other EMEA regions to finally ensure support of tailor-made regionally marketing approaches.

The MM will support the best practices of sales management, prospect development and distributor management, developing appropriate matrices and reports to measure the business growth. In addition, MM will provide distributor partners and Abbott sales team with product training and sales support, and is supporting the sales organizations in tenders as well as marketing-related questions in their daily routine including site visits.

Support of the Russian direct sales and distributor network with acquisition of new business, expansion and retention of existing business by marketing activities. Provide process and health economic models tailored to the local health care and commercial environment.

Support market access process by working with regulatory team to ensure new product registration and renewal of registration in accordance with market demand and aligned with local requirements.

The Marketing Manager reports into the EMEA Marketing Director located in Germany and needs to establish ca very close working collaboration with the Country Manager Russia-CIS as well as respective local sales/distributor organizations, strong relation with respective KOLs in the region, as well as with his peers in the region.

Understanding financial figures to analyze performance, ROI of marketing activities, local pricing is a must.

The role includes visiting clients and attending EMEA/regional meetings and is expected to be with 50% field travel within the focus region.

A clean driving licence and national passport are required that are internationally accepted

Normal Qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum of 6years, relevant in vitro diagnostics in national and international roles

  • Must have a history of progressively senior sales and marketing roles within Diagnostics.

  • Experience of managing direct reports or distributor operations

  • Experience of process management, understand health economics

  • Biological/medical, degree level education, Marketing or Business degree an advantage

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Serving as key marketing contact for local sales organizations and distributors

  • Create, review and distribute relevant product documentation

  • Preparation and implementation of regional marketing and launch plans

  • Continuous analysis of market and competitive trends, implementing necessary adjustments of marketing strategy as needed, and reporting back into area marketing and sharing experience with area peers

  • Supporting country organizations in tenders and local marketing activities

  • Supporting management in building, updating and implementing business plans

  • Managing regional marketing budget

  • Close cooperation and management of marketing activities with distributors

  • Building network with KOLs and relevant stakeholders

  • Organizing and supporting appropriate congress activity and KOLs engagement

  • Travelling to client locations as well as internationally and company meetings

Required Skills:

  • Proven product management and marketing skills and experience

  • Experience in sales

  • Experience in an international sales and marketing environment

  • High self-motivation

  • Proven ability to engage KOLs and laboratory end users into discussion regarding product benefits and utilisation and testing technology

  • Have good leadership and sales coaching skills

  • Must be willing and able to travel across both existing territory, but also other parts of the world as necessary

  • Must be well organized with excellent follow-up skills and the ability to adjust and re-adjust priorities without confusion.

  • Must have excellent communication skills, and be equally at ease in one on one situations as well as group presentations and negotiations at the most senior levels within a healthcare establishment.

  • Must have extensive knowledge of healthcare provision in the region and the IVD market in particular

  • Must have good PC skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

  • Must be competent in local language and have a good command of both written and spoken English

  • Must be comfortable managing a contracted relationship whilst monitoring contract compliance and goal achievement.
