Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Faculty Onboarding Assistant for University Human Resources.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Manages faculty job postings via Applicant Tracking System, including revision of job descriptions.

  • Serves as the liaison between management, faculty-staff, and applicants regarding employment policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Performs duties as Background Investigation Coordinator under direct supervision, and is responsible for initiating and processing background investigations for faculty positions, and those required by the University’s Protection of Minors Policy.

  • Reviews background check results and notifies requester in collaboration with Office of Labor Relations and Academic Labor Relations.

  • Serves as a point of contact for the Rutgers Online Recruitment System and provides customer service via phone and e-mail; also researches system questions/issues.

  • Participates in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, organization, coordination and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Requires good communication, organizational, interpersonal and computer (Microsoft Suite) skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a Human Resources function
