Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk, and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

The Wholesale Financial Crimes Business Risk & Controls (WFCBRC) team is responsible for the coordination, oversight, and ultimate execution of Wholesale Banking’s commitments to key internal and external stakeholders as it relates to the management of financial crimes risk with the Wholesale Bank. In addition to having responsibility for Wholesale Banking’s execution of the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) program, WFCBRC is also responsible for the remediation of the OCC BSA/AML Consent Order.

This team will partner with line of business (LOB), operations, risk, and compliance team members, Wholesale Group Risk Office (in particular Financial Crimes Risk & Compliance), Enterprise Financial Crimes Risk Management, Wells Fargo Audit Services, and Testing & Validation to advocate and ensure alignment in scope, purpose, expectations, and execution of the Wholesale Financial Crimes Program. The team will achieve this through a focus on strong communication, strategic planning, thoughtful and meaningful tracking/reporting, and timely escalation and change management.

The newly created Wholesale Financial Crimes Customer - Know Your Customer Onboarding team is seeking a dynamic leader. This organization will provide operations support for various customer onboarding activities as they relate to Customer Identification Program (CIP)/Customer Due Diligence (CDD). Specifically, this leader will manage the newly formed Customer Onboarding team for Wholesale Banking. The team will interact with the front line team members, relationship managers, and/or line of business (LOB) Financial Crimes teams to ensure accurate, timely, and successful onboarding of customer information to satisfy CIP requirements. Most common tasks involve document collection, document review, and data quality checks. Additionally, the team will provide reviews for related parties. The team is geographically disbursed and this leader will be responsible for managing multiple work sites. This leader will interact with both LOBs and Customers.

Operational Risk Manager 4 - Know Your Customer (KYC) Onboarding Manager Individual Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing the use of internal and external data, including publicly available information

  • Performing risk assessments, leveraging experience within reputational and operational risk management or control functions

  • Collaborating with all levels of management and functional groups

  • Executing communication routines with impacted stakeholders inclusive of members of the risk team as well as the LOB

  • Day to day support of LOB teams and clear understanding of business goals/objectives as well as applicable Financial Crimes risk

Function and Span of Control

Onboarding CIP CDD, Multiple Front Line Managers, and Indirect Reports

  • Preferred Locations:* Charlotte, NC; San Francisco ,CA; Chandler, AZ; Minneapolis, MN; Salt Lake City, UT; New York City, NY; however other locations within the Wells Fargo Footprints will be considered.



Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 10+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

  • 5+ years of management experience

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
