Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Lead the development of new passive products and systems for their applications in optical communication network and data center

  • Provide technical guidelines and solutions for new product research and development, including architecture design, optical modeling, tests design, tolerance analysis, and product validation

  • Define manufacturing flows and procedures, and their optimization; lead and organize the transfer of product development to Asia-bound volume manufacturing

  • Technical support to company’s marketing efforts for account acquisitions

Job requirements :

  • Ph.D. degree in experimental physics, optics or Electrical Engineering

  • 3- 4 years’ work experience in relevant field

  • Experienced in optical communication industry, proven trace-record in the research and development of fiber optics components and subsystems

  • Experienced with optical design, optical simulation/analysis, optical testing and characterization with industry professional software and hardware

  • Experienced with project management skills, able to juggle multiple priorities and deliver against a schedule

  • In-depth understanding of manufacture processes, familiar with maintenance and improvement of their efficiency

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively across disciplines

Day-to-day job duties :

  • Program management for new product development:

  • Manage team members from both internal and external partners including project planning, phase scheduling and budgetary tasks, and providing status reports

  • Products life cycle management and manufacturing sustaining activities to drive continuous improvements, cost reduction

  • Products and systems includes: Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) modules for optical communication network characterization, Passive optical sub-assembly (POSA) for receiver optical sub-assemblies (ROSA) for 400G transceiver, ROSA for CFP4/QSFP28 transceiver, and multimode (MM) tap for applications within data centers

  • WDM1r for FTTH applications in access market, Technical guidelines and manufacture experience for new product research and development:

  • Conduct optical design to predict optical performance, Conduct detailed tolerance analyses on complex assemblies, Develop engineering specifications and requirements and generate production documentation, Design product test processes according to product specification and requirements, Provide Research/proof-of -concept design, feasibility study, Create and conduct verification and validation protocols to qualify new or improved materials, processes, or products in manufacture, Improve the manufacturing flows and assembly procedures according to the demand of mass production

  • Technical support to company’s marketing efforts for account acquisitions.

  • Define new products to expand company’s market share in current and emerging markets that include developing a product road map for specific areas of application, creating detailed functional and performance specifications;

  • Work with customers to develop customized product specifications to meet their products needs

  • Support customers on their products needs including technical questions, RMA issues, product non-compliance issues, etc.

  • Employ the experience in the manufacture into the earlier stage of products designs and developments

  • Act as technical leader, provide constructive feedback and assist in verifying designs to meet requirements
