The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of the new business with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). Responsibilities include: Pipeline development, opportunity identification, qualification, shaping, strategy and positioning activities and proposal development leading to the successful capture of multiple opportunities. Ideal candidate will have a proven record of successfully identifying, qualifying and closing enough deals to support the strategic growth of a $200M line of business. Demonstrated experience in successfully pursuing GWAC/IDIQ task orders in the Defense IT market is desired. The candidate will be responsible for core market sustainment and new business growth, new business opportunity identification, qualification, competitive positioning and capture. Position reports to the Sr Vice President, National Security Solutions.
Responsible for strategic evaluation of potential business opportunities and provides input into the company's overall business strategy with a focus on the defense markets.
Based on analysis of customer research, develops a strategy to establish new business, expand and grow existing business. Identifies and/or develops customer needs.
Use his/her established network in DoD/DISA to actively meet with potential clients, identify new business opportunities and drive capture efforts when necessary· Works with the Business Unit Staff to develop the growth plan, strategy and new business commitment for the Business Unit. · Assists executive leadership team in setting strategic marketing programs to drive organizational growth and meet established goals. · Develops and executes a tactical sales strategy for the DISA market segment.
· Develops and maintains strong business relationships with key decision makers in relevant market segments (DISA). Works with the Operational and BD team to leverage all relationships across the targeted market space.
· Collaborates and coordinates business development activities internally ensuring opportunities are prioritized and managed within the business area.
· Responsible for Pipeline Development. With the Business Unit leadership, develops and manages the Strategic Plan and implementation of that Plan.
Interface with industry peers and evaluate/recommend teaming arrangements. Identifies, cultivates, and establishes teaming agreements with key strategic partners based on analysis of market place.
Responsible for: customer contact, competitive intelligence, gap analysis and bid team structuring.
Core Abilities and Experience
Bachelor’s degree is required and Master’s degree is preferred.
15 years related experience developing business in the Information and Technology Department of Defense contracting environment.
8-10 years demonstrated experience and relationships within DISA. Customer Contacts throughout DoD.
Experience in business development activities associated with identification, qualification, full capture and bid activities, and the knowledge to transition new business into operations.
Experience in proposal pricing methodologies and strategies
Experience in managing and contributing to winning proposal content
Must have effective oral and written communication skills coupled with the ability to establish and maintain productive customer and industry participant networks.
Must be a US citizen with ability to obtain a Government security clearance. Minimum clearance required is an active Secret clearance; Top Secret w/ SCI is preferred.
